Forest re-think Chambers appeal..

Having apparently got hold of some video footage, and starting to make preparations to appeal to the FA on the back of it, Forest have backtracked and decided not to appeal Luke Chambers’ red card against Reading on the opening day.  The official line is that the footage was inconclusive.

The evidence was inconclusive...

The evidence was inconclusive...

Joking aside, given our recent appeals with the FA over decisions that were completely absurd yet not overturned, just because Forest aren’t contesting the decision doesn’t necessarily mean Chambers deliberately elbowed Shane Long.  However, it does rather lend support to the notion that he was guilty of either violent conduct or horrendous naivity in expecting a player like Long wouldn’t make the most of a flailed arm.

There’s no excuse for it, Luke!

  1. Indeed, NFFC, indeed! Well, for tomorrow’s mammoth clash against Bradford (sorry, just can’t take tomorrow’s game seriously, even though I probably should), the defence looks very short. What’s worse is we have one of the best looking teams coming to visit on Saturday and we cannot afford to be in the same position with the defence by then otherwise it could quickly turn into a poor start to the season.

What’s puzzling a little though is that the rumour mill seems to have got itself jammed on something. We haven’t heard anything for ages. Unless Forest have great reservations over Shittu, he could be with the lads training tomorrow. Mattock I fear will be more difficult as Leicester will want a lot for him. But with our defence the way it is, there’s nothing like a dose of desperation to put one into action. U reeeeds!

  2. After Billy´s rant about arthur I´m sure there will be action this week regarding incoming defenders and I certainly hope they will be eligible to play on saturday.

  3. How on earth he is still in the side nffc is beyond me.He may have improved fitness wise but he is a poor defender and in my humble opinion a leage 1 player you are right he is a liability.

I will place a bet with you every time we get turned over this saeson i bet you the opposition have earmarked him as the weak link and give him a torrid time.

    U reds

  4. Pach,
thankfully Mattock has gone to WBA, confirmed on BBC yesterday. Over rated by all accounts.Henly,Whitbread and Shittu would be great :0)

  5. So glad u lot can keep coming up with rumours… the newsnow site hasn’t picked up any juicy rumours latley.

Until we get some signings, how about a list of defenders for Wednesday if there’s any left!!!

  6. According to SSN..

The surprise story in the tabloids on Tuesday morning is that Notts County are lining up a sensational move to sign Sol Campbell, who is out of contract at Portsmouth.

What are peoples thoughts on BD trying and hijack this? Surely a move to the Reds would be preferable?
