Project f**k up reaches a new milestone..

Marlon: On loan to Wolves, not Forest.

Marlon: On loan to Wolves, not Forest.

And so, after a reported week of negotiations with Forest, Marlon Harewood will be strutting his stuff at the City Ground on Saturday.  In a Wolves shirt.  Whilst I’m not convinced loaning all and sundry is the way forward given that you can only play with five loan players, I would’ve been happy to see Marlon back – many fans had taken this to a new level of ‘second coming’ type proportions borne of desperation at our seemingly worsening plight.  The reason that I haven’t really mentioned the ballad of Marlon otherwise in passing was because I was utterly convinced it wouldn’t happen.

Sure enough, it hasn’t – earlier indications were that Martin O’Neill put the kibosh on it, but given that he has since gone on to join another Championship team would suggest that perhaps that wonderful acquisition panel of ours has once again flexed its very effective muscles.  They should be renamed to the fuck-it-up panel, because that’s all they ever seem to do after Davies has identified the player he wants, as well as presumably getting them to want to come here – no mean feat given the state of the place.

So when Marlon makes his inevitable debut will he score against our own debutant in goal?  Probably, we will have the same incompetent defence in front of him – perhaps Forest fans will find Turner an intolerable goalkeeper as well?  One thing is for sure, after another week of embarrassment off the pitch sparked off by humiliation on it, there will be a frosty-at-best atmosphere at the City Ground, drowned out by more than 5,000 Wolves fans who have sold their allocation to roar their team on in their title challenge.

Generally speaking (probably not including Mark Arthur and David Pleat, who I don’t understand the point of) I have always been supportive of the regime at Forest, but I am starting to question it now, because clearly they are not providing Billy Davies with the basics he needs to keep Forest in the Championship, let alone challenge at the right end of it in the future – and that’s a worry, Davies was reportedly absolutely fuming about the Harewood saga, presumably he was when we arsed up signing his targets in January too, how long before he loses patience altogether?  He’s an ambitious man, and clearly Forest are not matching those ambitions.

It all smacks of the incompetence article a number of you have pointed me to via comments and emails, we are basically run by a bunch of clowns – we are an embarrassment, presumably other clubs are rapidly starting to see us in a less-than-serious light in off-the-field matters, and more importantly and dear to our own hearts as fans we are becoming an absolute laughing stock for the way we’re being run – and there’s only so much of that road to ruin that most fans will be prepared to put up with before abstaining from further frustration.  Watch us go an win tomorrow, now.

  1. Win – maybe, I expect that but don’t know if we’ll get it.

I also like to point out that SHOULD we stay up we’ll be seeing our midland rivals Leicster joining us back in the Championship who’ve done what neither Leeds or us managed to do. Bounce straight back up.

Just goes further to show how well a management team we got. F them is perfect 😀 Useless twats.

  2. Whether we go down or stay up we’ll still have to rely on the “acquisition committee” to bring in and sell off a large number of players in the summer (lots on loan and some are crap or out of favour). I can’t see that happening.

I really enjoyed the mail article summed up all our issues. I really don’t know what the link is with this constant failure, so in that case we should really swipe the board (literally) and start again.
My guess has always been Arthur, 10 years surely more than enough?

  3. How much longer is the support going to tolerate what is going on in the background? We’ve put up with Arthur’s incompetance for way too long. As any longstanding Red will know from “Are you serious about promotion?” to the shambles of a third flight club bull-shiting about developing a 40-50,000 stadium; this man is both an embarassment & a liability. How we haven’t strung him up from the Main Stand I’ll never know!
As I’ve stated before although Doughty’s culpable I can forgive him because he’s thrown money at the club with the best of intentions. Whilst Arthur…I’m sure he’s on the payroll of our nearest & dearest rivals!
Will continue to support the team but isn’t it about time we really vented our spleen @ those responsible for events down @ the theatre of farce!

  4. Apparently Harewood hasn’t actually signed yet at Wolves, so hopefully he won’t be playing for them tomorrow.

  5. message to luke chambers….. “THIS IS NOT A RAVE OR A GAME !…THIS PARTY IS FOR YOU AND IT’S FOR FREE IF YOU DARE” !!!

  6. Why on earth would Marlon Harewood want to come back to this joke of a club.
Mark Arthur and Nigel Doughty should be made to hang their heads in shame in the middle of the market square and appologise to every Forest supporter for the constant Bull….t that emulates from them. They dont care less about the supporters.

  7. Are you serious about relegation ? we are

  8. Club is a joke, sick of it, I will not be giving anymore money to that shower whilst the current set up is place.

The players are a joke and so is the bored. I can see Billy walking and who can blame him.

    Fook the lot of them.

  9. Why on earth would we want Marlon Harewood back anyway. As I recall most Forest fans were glad to see the back of him and his ‘big time charlie’ attitude.
    It’s defenders we need, desperately.
When is Moloney back? What about Heath?

I hope I’m wrong but I hear that one of Nottingham Forest’s outstanding young players of recent years is considering a move to a CCC club based in South Yorkshire in the summer, as a result of being dropped for tomorrows match. ( I suspect the constant slating by fans and boss has hastened his decision).
Mind you, he is a bit of a big time charlie, just lately.

And why oh why did the club give wolves 5000 tickets???? Why not drop the price to forest fans and fill up with our lot??
Not that it would matter, I daresay the knob behind me will still be slagging off every single error tomorrow, loud as you like.
    Why do we keep going?!?!!

I was gonna have a rant, but I just can’t be bothered!

  10. NOTTINGHAM FOREST FC IS A BUSINESS YOU SEE.. DOUGHTY AND ARTHUR ARE BUSINESS MEN …FOREST ARE TICKING OVER NICELY …NOT IN THE PREMIERSHIP NOT IN THE BOTTOM DIVISION…THEY ARE MID WAY THAT’S HOW ARTHUR AND DOUGHTY LIKE IT …THE REASON FOR THIS IS TAX!! REASONS …BASICALLY NOTTINGHAM FOREST ARE JUST LAUNDERING MONEY …MAKING DIRTY MONEY CLEAN!!… THEY TAKE AND RECEIVE BUNGS …THEY ARE A COMMODITY….THEY DO NOT WANT REAL SUCCESS…THEY JUST WANT TO TICK OVER NICELY ….GARY MEGSON CAME CLOSE TO RUMBLING THE GOINGS ON IN FOREST …CALDERWOOD DIDN’T GIVE A F**K AS HE WAS TO BUSY SHAGGING ANOTHER WELL KNOWN PRESON… JOE KINNEAR WAS OFFERED A JOB BY THE BOARD WHY???? (I KNOW AND SO DOES EVERYONE AT FOREST DO YOU??)…BIG SAM TURNED US DOWN !!!….BILLY DAVIES WAS SOLD A PIG IN A POKE …ANY COMMENTS PLEASE AND I WILL ANSWER ALL….I WILL TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING AT FOREST IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Really don’t care about Harewood not coming, I personally thought he was bordering on useless for most of the time at our club. Garner, Tyson, Earnshaw & McSheffery should be more than adequate at this level with decent service (not that their getting it).

The board are a joke, have been for decades now, and as for the money Doughty has given, yes he has given us approx 25-30mil, but it is a LOAN, not dishing money out to his alleged beloved club. He is most definitely a businessman first and a fan second. I will hold fire on asking him to go without a serious buyer for our club, but needless to say the rest of them are halfwits and need to simply fuck off! (sorry for language)

Truly is touch and go for the rest of the season, and if all goes wrong, BD will leave of his own accord. And to be honest, good riddance, the man in my opinion is intolerable, a loud mouth, inconsiderate, arrogant, self-conceited prick. He has destroyed any confidence within the squad and as much as i don’t rate a lot of our players, personally or technically, i truly can’t blame them if they are disconsolate at having to work under this manager. I know they should play for the shirt but football is a different game to when we all fell in love with the garibaldi.

Should have given pembo the job, said it at the time, and will maintain that until the day I die.

Huge game tomorrow, not confident but haven’t been for years, but truly hoping we put a fighting performance.

@sudge puller – with a teaser like that, it is essential you tell us all what you believe or know what the score is behind the scenes. Please tell all, but there is no doubt I won’t be shocked.

Apologies to the team and fellow fans, I can’t make it tomorrow due to financial reasons, but i am there in spirit and i hope for the best possible outcome

    U Reds!!

  12. due to certain enforcements that be i am not totally allowed to say what is going on behind closed doors ….but you will be shocked …this club has been on easy street for so / too long …check the players out tomorrow including their body language when they come out on the field of play….i will tell more tomorrow after wolves have beaten us 3-0……….i will tell all about certain players …the toss pot at full bacvk in particular!!!!!!!!1

  13. I’m no Doughty apologist, but Wolves will be in the prem next season, we might be in league one. Even if it wasn’t about money or fame, you can’t blame a 28 year for chosing div 1 over div 3.

Of course if they do go up they’ll buy a bunch of Hondurans and marlon will be back on the bench, but let’s not spoil it for him.

  14. I just hope Tyson,Earnie,Cohen and Anderson and our new keeper get the rest of the team in fighting mood.
Someone give some service to our forwards for christs sake and lets see if we can have a clean sheet tomorrow.
    It IS possible !!!!

  15. Sudge puller, would we really be shocked? I doubt it. Those of us that go every week are more than aware of the general malaise that exists at the top of the club, and extraordinary mis-management by executives not fit to run a bath, let alone a professional football club.
I don’t care that our leaders are not football people, so long as thay can run the good well. They can’t even do that. Otherwise we wouldn’t owe ND £40m, have falling attendances, poor facilities, communication and stewarding etc etc etc.

Many many years ago I was a member of a supporters group and therefore invited to numerous functions attended by board members etc. Let me assure you that the rot in this Club even existed during the tenure of Rowarth and Reacher, they didn’t give a damn about NFFC either, just looking after themselves.

  16. anybody else considering not going today (wolves)? Got up and sort of did’nt fancy it when reality hit home and thought another hammering is probably on the cards if the eleven in red ar’nt up for it 100%.Maybe could meet up with sudge puller and discuss the not so finer points of our beloved club-with matty on this one, nothing about Nottingham Forest FC would or could shock me, well three points against wolves and a clean sheet to boot would.

  17. The decision in January to appointment Davies has doomed the club for years, in my opinion. Not so much because of who he is but because of the misssed opportunity to appoint a manager who would have galvinesed the fans and the players and the club. Unusually there were several available and we could and should have had one. There is a tide and we missed it, bigtime.
I don’t know about the allegations about the board here. My feeling is that when they make decisions like this they try to run it like a business and don’t let any passion for the club come in to it (if they have any, which i doubt). Trouble is most succesful businessmen are passionate about their business and use the passion in their decision making, it’s what gives them the edge.
Ok i’m rambling. But i just see January 2009 as a critical turning point for the club with no forseeable way back. If we go down those who aoppointed Davies to use his ‘championship experience’ to keep us up should resign and leave the club, take their money and clear off. They’ve nailed their colours to the Davies mast. I think they’ve sank us.

  18. We waited 12 games to long before we sacked Deadwood, the team was not added to in january, half the team are average div 1 players no good in this division,BD is proven in this div, this club has had major problems for many years,in my opinion about the last 10,until its sorted at the top things aint going to get much better,if BD keeps us up with this shower of shit he wants a medal as big as a dustbin lid, just setting out for the CG now its hard to stop after 33 years,i must be mad……………..

  19. the common denominater is always Doubty and Arthur – the chuckle brothers have mismanaged the club in detail for a decade now – theyve failed to invest at crucila times before ( especially after the championship play off miss with Hart ) youve only got to consider the ‘failed forest managers’ coaching
in the prem – megson, kinnear/calderwood, Hart to see its not the managers its these two clowns .
the fans as you say are at the end of there tether … Davies wasnt backed when it mattered
in January – after the city cup win – we stood at the crossroads and couldve escaped … today we face the consequences – a hotchpotch of loanees , unfit, lacking match practice and only a passing interest in our plight – WE MUST GET RID OF DOUBTY AND WEEN OURSELVES OFF HIS MONEY – BY 5 TONIGHT LEAGUE ONE WILL BE BECKONING

  20. Good luck to the lads today and I’d love to see them beat Wolves and prove a point. I think we can do it. We’re at home, hopefully some of the lads will prove that some of the negative brigade who’ve come out of the woodwork are just that, and only that.

Think Derby FA Cup 2-0 up and then bottled it, let’s show a bit more grit this time around.

  21. Well I don’t see myself as part of a negative brigade crawling out of the woodwork. I was adamant throughout last season we were going to get promotion when many others doubted it. After over 40 years of following Forest and many highs and quite a few lows I firmly believe January 2009 was a critical turning point. And we have gone the wrong way. If I’m wrong – great, the board know more about football than me and so they should. If I’m proved right the board should take the flak not just the manager and players.
