Yeovil Town vs Nottingham Forest preview

I’m quite excited about this match, I don’t get to as many away games as I’d like to – so do get a bit of anticipation when I’m due to go off on the road following the Reds, particularly when it’s a bit of a day trip!

Those of you who went to Yeovil last season will have bad memories, indeed, two of you went off into the dressing room at Gary Megson’s invitation to give the team your own take on their shameful performance! I’ve never had the pleasure of visiting Huish Park before, and it’s always good to add another league ground to your hitlist!

Forest are obviously topping the table currently with an unbeaten start, but our opponents have been no slouches either, they’re currently 7th place in the table and have only tasted defeat once so far this season against Tranmere. In their first six games they’ve beaten Port Vale (much to our delight at the time!), so are clearly not going to be a pushover.

Neither side appear to have any major new injury worries, and Yeovil have just added Bristol City striker Marcus Stewart to their ranks on loan, who will be keen to continue to impress having scored on his debut against Swansea. And of course, Glovers boss Russell Slade would certainly take pleasure in scuppering Forest given his former Notts County and Blades connections. I can’t wait for it – you reds!!

Gary due a Holt for surgery?

Reds midfielder Gary Holt is apparently nursing a torn cartilage in his knee which will require surgery, although not immediate, so he should still be available for Saturday’s clash with Yeovil Town.

This is pretty bad news, Gary had a difficult start to his Forest career under Megson, but has since turned it around and is fully justifying his ‘three lungs’ nickname with some cracking performances this season.
