Promotion = beating, or at the very least, drawing with the likes of Luton (sorry Luton fans no offence intended).
We are told that Calderwood has learnt from the mistakes of last season however last week in the Post he said he wouldn't be panicked into bringing in strikers on loan although our strike force is severley depleted. End result Saturday. Now I know our striker problems are not the whole story of Saturday but I can't help being concerned about where we will be come May.

While congratulations are due to Leeds, it is also a fact that Forest have in effect squandered what was a 15-point lead over their Yorkshire rivals.

I have not bought a season ticket this season and it is interesting to note that after the intial enthusiasm, both NFFC and several of the posters of comments are "a tad uninspired". It seesm that the team are too.

I was at the game yesterday so I'll give you my summary...

Forest were poor and were deservedly beaten by the better side. Luton had the majority of posession and looked comfortable and creative with the ball. I was very impressed with David Bell who was behind most of Luton's flowing football and I fully expect them to be amongst the teams challenging for promotion.

Forest on the other hand were uncomfortable in posession and lacking in creativity. It was like a hot potato at times and we couldn't wait to give it them back! The 4-3-3 formation provides no width whatsoever and I do not think it makes best use of Kris Commons.

Although we generally defended reasonable well, especially Wilson who was probably our best player, making some vital challenges and has great pace for a centre half. However, Chambers and Bennett did not get forward enough to support the 3 man midfield in attacking moves and I feel that Perch and Lockwood would be an improvement on that front.

Lennon had a poor game and was rightly substituted and Lewis McGugan showed more urgency in his time on the pitch than anyone else who played the 90. Find this lad a place in the team Colin - if not midfield, he could probably do a decent job as an attacking right back.

I totally agree with your comments above regarding Sinclair. I'd have given him 20 mins yesterday - his pace would certainly have given Luton something different to think about. Bennett's late goal came too late as the game was already lost by then. Disappointingly, the Forest players and management trudged off the field with virtually no attempt to thank the two thousand or so loyal travelling fans who left bitterly disappointed in a poor performance and result.

I said at the start of the season that I think Forest have enough quality to be challenging for promotion but I'm still unconvinced that CC has the ability to motivate and make the tactical decisions to get us up. And why couldn't the team give the same effort and urgency for the whole game that they showed in the final 5 minutes when the game after we went 2 - 0 down?!!!

Nowt's up mate, combination of being pretty busy as well as feeling a tad uninspired by all things Forest at the moment.

I reckon in the past there were a few too many random posts about fairly trivial things, but I've perhaps swung the other way in doing pretty much only match reports!

I'm sure I'll find my muse again before long...

Wes as a striker???? Much as I love Wes surely Emile is a better option??? Or am I missing something here????

3 home matches on the bounce now.........so a good chance to establish ourselves in the top 6 positions. However, this is a typical Forest banana skin so we need to be focused.

Well done to Leeds btw.......a great achievement in overcoming their 15 point deficit.

And finally............posts are few and far between these days NFFC. Owt up???
