Same old Sadpies, always whining!

richard_wilson.jpgThanks Jason for spotting this and posting a comment – but I think it’s worthy of it’s own story.  To be honest, I’d forgotten we were playing a friendly on the cheap side of the river at all, so hadn’t realised the game against the Sheep was just a day later.  Well, it seems that Smoulds picking a full strength team has riled at least one (so that’s what, 9% of their fanbase?) Notts County fan, bless him!

Click here if you’d like to read the piece in all its glory, there’s some real spleen-venting going on, some real disappointment, and ultimately one hell of a lot of bitterness which makes for highly entertaining reading.  If you, as I do quite frequently, lament our lowly status – then a quick appraisal of this will remind you there’s a lot lower we could have sunk.

As I wrote before, I wasn’t planning on going to the friendly because of the attitude some of the Notts fans exhibit, and here’s a prime example of the mealy-mouthed pathetic tirades.  Be grateful that the game will generate you some money, you silly little man – it’s not like you don’t need it.  And if our reserve team manages to beat you then, why would we have needed a full strength team?  If you beat them, well then it will make your year regardless as they’ll still be wearing Forest shirts.

Now of course, a response like this is ammunition for this character to say “Look! See! He cares after all!”, I’m afraid that’s not really the case – I’m interested in this fixture of course, it involves my team – and I was quick to contribute when Notts back were really against the wall, so in the past I’ve cared – but in a good way – now having read countless comments like this from Notts fans, I really don’t care at all – but it does make for amusing reading :)

  1. Sad isnt it .Id like Notts to do well as its good publicity for Nottingham, but seeing a comment like that from a Notts fan I find it rather sad.Im sure this pathetic creature cannot be typical of real Notts fans. They seem to be building well for a good promotion push this year and I hope they make it!!!COME ON YOU REDS !!!!!!

  2. Cute – we all know there’s never any real bad feeling towards the pies.

I’m always amused when watching the Reds away, if the MC reads out the Notts score expecting us to revel in their losing, as it never garners much more than minor cheer if they win and pretty much no response if they lose. The plain fact is most trickies would rather see them do OK and save their vitriol for the sheep botherers and bin robbers – who are truely deserving of so much bad feeling… but that’s another thread.

Notts County Mad – I salute you. Well done for trying your best to really stoke up a fire without any fuel and my I be the first of many offer you a patronising pat on the head from across the trent.

  3. I like the comment at the end that says,
“THERE’S ONLY 1 DECENT MAGPIES AND YOU’RE ONLY JEALOUS BECAUSE U CAN’T AFFORD A BIG MAC MEAL HA HA HA HA”
Now thats not a nice thing to say is it?

  6. Being from mansfield I did’nt really realize that notts hated us so much. I’m not to bothered about them. But as i read it all i can see is jealosy i’m afraid. you were right, it is a good read, watching him whine! keep up the good work NFFC!

  7. P.S. I quote “Yes that is right, double winning European champions Nottingham Forest have once again looked down on Notts like a bird does a worm.”

Isn’t that the situation all the time?
