Spencer crosses the river..

A mildly interesting development is that Spencer Weir-Daley has turned his nose up at a deal from Forest and gone over the river to Notts County.  It must have been a fairly derisory offer, and given that he’s even fallen behind Scott Dobie in the striker list, you can understand his fear of not getting a game! (Particularly since popular rumours seem to link us with strikers too - which would make him about 7th choice!).

With the Sadpies he’ll have a real crack at a regular first team slot - not least because Jason Lee is bound to spend at least half the season suspended!  We’ve seen too little of him in the first team to really judge him accurately, but if he’s not made it by now at his age with us, then it does make sense to let him move on and have an opportunity to hold down a regular first team place.

So good luck to you Spencer, hopefully you can bang in a few goals for the lesser half of Nottingham.

ps Is CC going to Copa America in Venezuela.I live here and there will be a lot of talent on display.A lot of the Venezuelan players have heard of Forest and would love to play in Europe.Tevez will tell them all about it and other Europe based players.A lot of talent at cheap prices who want to play in Europe.!!!Anyone listening??????

He never made the grade here, doubt he ever would’ve to be honest. Problem with Notts, as always, is that they’ll start well and then drop off as the season progresses. No matter how many Spencer Weird Ailey’s you sign, nothing will change :D

I have to agree. He always flattered to deceive, Good decision for Forest though…we need to remove dead wood.

Cant blame the lad for moving on, CC was never going to give him a run in the side.
So, enlighten me….is Grant still with us? Commo? And what about the 4or 5 new signings?? Or are we supposed to have forgotten about the actual football team since the ‘new stadium’ news was released? Maybe I’m just a cynical old bugger!

Wot about Prutts mattyboy? Any news………..ANYONE????

  7. mattyboy Says:

I’m a bit undecided about Prutts. Every so often he plays like the experienced midfielder we’ve been crying out for, but then he’ll go and spoil it. Depending on wages I think overall he’d be an asset to the team.
True story: a friend of mine has an 18 year old son who happens to be a fair footballer. Recently his team (boston) got relegated. So he has left them and signed for….Crawley. If his dad is to be believed (and i do) this lad is on £2000 per week. Thats Crawley, for f*ck sake!! The world has gone mad.
