It’s a big day for the Reds…
… and we’re not even playing! But our promotion rivals are, and whilst they’re all playing an ‘extra’ game, it gives Scunny a chance of amassing a ten point lead over us if they can get a win tonight; which on current form certainly doesn’t seem to be above them. They face a trip to Crewe, who hopefully won’t approach the game in the same way that they did when we visited and annihilated them.
Yeovil can put themselves three points clear of us if they are successful on a tricky trip north to Doncaster, whilst Oldham are at home to Blackpool - and if they can turn around the appalling run they’ve found themselves on, they’d end up one point ahead of us - although if Blackpool can play with as much endeavour and effort as they did at our place recently, it will certainly prove to be a difficult game for the Latics.
If all results fare badly for us, it will leave us in fourth place - with a game in hand over all three teams above us. Bristol City would remain just below us in fifth, with two games in hand over the top three, and a game in hand over us (and they’re only a point behind us, remember!). If there were any starker demonstration of the importance of our results, I can’t imagine what it would look like - 2nd - 5th place is incredibly tight, there’s a seven point gap to Scunthorpe currently, and a 5 point gap from 5th to 6th placed Tranmere.
I think I might just not try to keep track of the results - whenever I do that they all seem to be going really well until some late intervention to throw a spanner in the works - so I’ll just check the results later tonight and hope that at least some of them went our way!

What a shame we now have to watch other results with so much interest when we had such a lead at the top, but looking at our recent form and the fact we are still in the chase goes to show how this is still for the winning.
The 28th is close, which is the day when a loan signing can join us and still be in it for a playoff final…….
I wait with baited breath…..on another issue I love Jack Lester, but I wish he could score goals like he gets yellow cards, a ban is all we needed on the back of Tyson!

I’m looking forward to the 28th and hopefully some new signings. If Forest do end up in the play-offs, does that mean Prutton won’t be eligible to play as he was signed before 28 Feb? Just thought you might be in the know!

Prutts was signed in the January window, which means the 92 day limit wasn’t applicable - so he would be eligible for any playoff duties
It’s only signings after January that are restricted to 92/93 days (I forget which!)

Thanks! Hopefully a trip to Cardiff won’t be needed!!

Good news about prutts, that. Shame about jack, tho. What a difference he has made to that midfield. Just a pity he was carrying it on his own most of the time. Still, look on the bright side, at least gary holt will get back in……!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, dont like to single out players, but anyone who has any sense at all can see that sammy has been wasted on the bench.
One more thing, an old favourite of mine was featured in last tuesdays programme, Andy Silenzi. For every good player we’ve ever had………….

I’m also a big fan of Jack Lester and the edge that he gives to the team. On current form, his loss for the next 2 games is quite a blow, particularly with Tyson also banned on Saturday. How he can pick up 10 bookings (so far) in a season when he has not even played regularly is quite astonishing. Didn’t Gary Lineker go through his entire career without a single booking?!

Yes - but show me one time when Gary Lineker ever made a tackle? He just scored goals, that is all. I don’t mind Lester picking up yellows for hard tackles in midfield - that’s a great example, in a weird way, to the rest of our midfield. It’s the cards he gets for mouthing off that I wish he would grow out of! Anyway, he has still got his shooting boots, and we’ll need him for the run in, that’s for sure. How many points does he have to get now to get suspended again? Does he get a clean slate, or is it less second time around?

Professionalism !!!! How many forest players did the manager take to crewe to see what scunny are doing to get out of this division. If I was a forest player I would have been there!! Can someone put this question to the people concerned.Of course the forest coach should have been organised..WAS IT???????????
