as you say if we’d replaced him adequately then great, I would have loved to see him stay and us bring in Huckerby on loan anyway.

I dont expect but really hope we sign him permanently, temprement or not hes a fantastic player

Plus he’s certainly not proven to be a £2.5m player so far, so all in all, it was probably good business – had we replaced him adequately, which of course, we didn’t.

Silly that we’ve got him on loan he’s no risk at this or at Championship level and we’re better poised to sign him now rather than the summer where (hopefully after a good end of season with us) clubs will be all over him to get him for free fair enough if he signs in the summer we’ve saved outselves 100-250k but i doubt we’ll sign him in the summer promoted or not caus that’ll just mean Mr. Doughty admitting was wrong to sell him in the first place and Mr. Doughty cant that now

I remember when Vialli as manager of Chelsea made an approach for him after we played them in the league cup years ago. Describing him as a battling midfielder doesn’t do him justice. He is one, he closes players down as well as anyone, but he’s also got good vision, passing and shooting. He can play as a winger too so should provide an alternative to Southall should the need arise. I would like to see him establish himself and then take us forward as captain (once he’s proved his temperament).
