Despite Forest suggesting that online is the best way to get tickets, I imagine hundreds of fans will still opt to queue and get tickets in person (particularly since you can’t get coach tickets online). For those of you who might not regularly get up to such activities outside the ticket office in the early hours, here are some tips:
- Arrive in groups – that way your place in the queue can be held whilst you take turns to nip to McDonalds or similar to get coffee and/or other provisions.
- Wrap up warm - the weather forecast is absolutely horrendous, so make sure you factor in the temperature and the likelihood of rain.
- Thermos-tastic – if you don’t have one, get a thermos flask and stick some coffee or soup in it.
- Music or books – books might be a bad plan given the potential weather, so if you are alone, an iPod or music phone would help immeasurably on passing the time.
- Don’t forget – your wallet, season ticket(s) or other things – check your balance too, imagine getting to the queue only for your card to decline on you!
Other than that, grin and bear it – queueing for tickets can never be described as a fun activity by anyone other than certifiable loons, but there is a certain amount of camaraderie to be had amongst those of you there, who you all have a big factor in common – so it’s unlikely you’ll be stuck for small talk!
If there’s one thing us Brits know how to do, it’s how to queue!

I’m a Chelsea fan but lived in Nottingham for a year or two and made a number of trips to watch Forest. If your fans are still as good-humoured and funny as they were then you’ll be very welcome indeed down at our place again.
One last tip. Once you have paid for your ticket start saving – the price of beer round and about the Bridge is diabolical.
Hope you are soon back permanently in the big time.
Thanks! If there’s one thing most Forest fans excel in it’s good humour – you have to be to watch the drivel we’ve endured over the last few years!
Personally I’m just really looking forward to the opportunity to go to a big ground for a change… even if it involves us getting completely tonked!
Thats the spirit – think positive! I liked this Forest fan’s take on the game.

Despite our current plight, we should not think of this game in the same way as a team like Macclesfield would do. Realistically, we should get beaten but I don’t want to hear any stories about Forest players getting Shevchenko’s autograph!
I just feel a bit sorry for him that he apparently only earns £25 a week!
I have sympathy with his attitude – but I’m still more in the “it’s going to be a good day out” camp.
But yes, the autograph hunting will be unfortunate – I imagine if (big if, infact, we just won’t) we cause an upset then Mourinho would be less amenable to shaking hands and invitations to the dressing room, so if you want us to avoid that, I’m afraid we’ll just have to win! Arf.
The last time i queued for tickets was for the Bradford game last year. The security guy on the gate came round with cups of tea for those that wanted it. First time i’ve had something for nowt off Forest. I hope he’s got plenty of tea bags in for Sunday.
…does anyone have an idea of the tckt situ as of today? Will there be any left come the general sale – several mates are all keen to come along and don’t fancy sitting with Chelsea!
I am lucky enough to have a ticket already but i havn’t decided the best form of travel yet.
Can anyone give me other options than driving or tips for getting to Stamford Bridge by car.
Best idea I’ve heard for driving is coming off the M1 before London where the most northern tube station is, parking there and tubing into London.
Anyone going by tube the nearest station is Fulham Broadway but I advise to go to Earls Court which is only 20 minutes walk away because Fulham can get somewhat crowded – chicken coup crowded!
I’m guessing the nearest tube to the M1 might be Edgeware on the Northern Line or Harrow and Weldstone on the Bakerloo.
One advantage I’ve come across playing Chelsea – can actually hold some banter with other football supporters – most of whom support Chelsea as opposed to when we play Yeovil, Brizzle or Scunny for who I know absolutely no supporters!
Anyone know if a tube strike is planned???!!!!

none as far as i can see
