Tyson was definetly a better left-winger than Commons has been. When Commons has played as an orthodox winger, the left-back/left-sided centre-half always looks exposed. I suspect this is why Bennett hasn't seen much action, as his defensive work isn't as strong as it should be.

We knew we could play without Commo anyway Mike as the first quarter when he was injured showed. If anything he's been the problem as Calderwood looks to facilitate him as a striker. He then wonders all over the place and ends up having little impact and gets in the way.
He's best off on the left side but you have to question his discipline to stay in that possition - unless now Tyson can play as a left winger and Kris can become the creative influence we need in centre midfield (if he can start tracking back that is).
Tyson - a Thierry Henry in reverse??

The charlton game was perfect in it's timing and result. It reinforced the ideat that forest are a capable side. Losing 5-0 one week and then winning comfortably against a premiership side is a huge change in what was very much the same squad.. I'd actually say our squad was weaker than when we got thumped.. interesting indeed.

We can play without commons aswell? Amazing scenes.

Kind of, suppose it depends what happens in January, but our squad looks thin now we've let a few go!

Part of me would love a cup run, but part of me would like us to get a huge fixture to get some cash in, and then concentrate on the league fully.

On the flipside, the "distraction" of the Charlton game couldn't have come at a better time!

you seem resigned to or hopeful of an exit in he next round by only wanting the 'glamour' clubs ($heep $haggers excluded).

Surely progression is the key? We've all seen what can happen in recent years by 'lucky runs / easy draws - admittedly not a common feature in recent history.

Or is it that you see the Cup as a distraction to the main (only) target of promotion?

There aren't really; but I want someone to come and see us fill the City Ground - go out with a bang, not a whimper, as it were - and casting my eye down the list there actually aren't many of them!

As for Rovers, I'm sick of us being the Goliath in games, I much prefer us in the role of David :)
