When Commons has played as an orthodox winger, the left-back/left-sided centre-half always looks exposed. I suspect this is why Bennett hasn’t seen much action, as his defensive work isn’t as strong as it should be.

If anything he’s been the problem as Calderwood looks to facilitate him as a striker. He then wonders all over the place and ends up having little impact and gets in the way.
He’s best off on the left side but you have to question his discipline to stay in that possition – unless now Tyson can play as a left winger and Kris can become the creative influence we need in centre midfield (if he can start tracking back that is).

It reinforced the ideat that forest are a capable side. Losing 5-0 one week and then winning comfortably against a premiership side is a huge change in what was very much the same squad.. I’d actually say our squad was weaker than when we got thumped.. interesting indeed.

We can play without commons aswell? Amazing scenes.

Surely progression is the key? We’ve all seen what can happen in recent years by ‘lucky runs / easy draws – admittedly not a common feature in recent history.

Or is it that you see the Cup as a distraction to the main (only) target of promotion?
