Smoulders was on the radio this morning, well, it sounded like part of his post-Salisbury match interview actually – must be a slow news day, but it was the section about the importance of saturday’s game with Leyton Orient, and how he wants the fans to get behind the players and make plenty of noise. Although it is a kids for a quid game, so I guess he needs to factor that into his atmospheric equation.
Orient have yet to win on their travels, so it’s one of those games, those games that should be a bit of a formality – those games where the players also seem to think this and don’t quite try as hard as they might otherwise have done. Hopefully stings in the tail from Salisbury at their place, and Bournemouth too, will have taught them such complacency just will not do – and they need to take Leyton Orient very seriously.
Having said that, Forest did put in a very professional – if unspectacular -performance against The Whites in the City Ground replay, so maybe they did learn their lesson. It would be great to get the fans buzzing behind the team though, and see if we can spur them into a Crewe-match style performance infront of a larger home crowd – we’ve yet to fully dominate a home match for 90 minutes as we reportedly did at Crewe, I for one would love us to! YOOOOOOOOOOOOOU REDS!
