Nathan Tyson: a moving eulogy from a fan

I just read quite a moving eulogy about Nathan Tyson on the LTLF forum by one of the regular posters on there, I’m sure he won’t mind me quoting a passage from his post on the forum relating to the joy of watching Nathan Tyson.

Perhaps the possibility (hopefully the slim possibility) of him leaving has brought into stark reality what a tremendous talent we have on our hands, but I couldn’t help but have an empathetic nod as I read this after getting in, still slightly frozen, from the game tonight.

“The biting cold, the unpleasant attendees and the entrance fee were all remedied by Nathan Tyson alone. Without wanting to be effusive or sycophantic, I feel compelled to add to this whistlestop critique that I thoroughly enjoy watching him play. Even on a bad day he’s a tremendous threat; darting runs, determination and grace; all delivered with expertise – and an aura of modesty that is alien to so many in the modern game.”

I think you speak for many of us there, “What’s in a name?”, and hopefully it is that adulation from us fans, coupled with – all being well – the Smoulderwood bandwagon rolling on and delivering promotion – we can match Nathan’s ambitions both on the pitch and from the terraces.  It’s not just that he’s clearly a talented lad, it’s the fact that he seems to be a nice bloke as well!

Not really news as such, but sometimes other people capture what you think a little better than you can – this is one of those moments, so I figured I’d share it!
