Taken from the official Forest site, but it’s worth reprinting everywhere possible, as far as I’m concerned!! Cloughie seems to be the topic of the day, today… having said that, I can think of few people more automatically worthy of such an accolade! See below, and make sure you vote, preferably several times!

As part of a tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson on Saturday BBC One’s “Football Focus” is running a text vote to find who the British public think is the greatest British manager ever.

If, like most Forest fans, you think the holder of that title should be Brian Clough then you can vote during the programme between 12:10 and 13:00, with the winner being announced at the end of the programme.

Voting will be by texting the manager’s surname (eg. Clough) to 81111 but don’t vote now, watch the programme on Saturday morning for more details and vote between the times above.

Texts will be charged at standard network rate.

So get tuned in and get voting, otherwise some charlatan like Don Revie will end up winning it!!

It’s probably the most bizarre news I’ve heard yet from the guys at the Brian Clough Statue Fund committee, but most definitely bizarre in a good way!  In a diversion from the oft seen auctions of memorabilia or sale of badges and keyrings, they’ve actually organised a gig to be hosted at The Rescue Rooms in Nottingham on 15th December, featuring local bands and DJs with the proceeds going to the statue fund.

Tickets are priced at a very reasonable £5, and are already available to purchase online via fan site Lost that loving feeling - so get ‘em ordered!  Sounds like a great idea and certainly a meaningful way for fans to support the fund without buying gigantic framed shirts that will never fit in their house in a million years!!

The fund, which is close to reaching its’ target of £60k, aims to raise a statue of the master manager in a prominent City Centre location in Nottingham, in recognition of the tremendous amount of coverage, prestige and fame his association with Nottingham Forest has brought to the City.  They are already seeking a sculptor to create the statue, and I for one can’t wait until it’s complete and unveiled!
