Midfielder rumours

The Sun are suggesting we’re after Stephen Clemence from Birmingham, I don’t know much about him, although apparently he’s been having a rough time at the hands Brum fans with high expectations. He has links with Colin Calderwood from his days at Spurs, so he’ll certainly be aware of the 28 year old’s credentials.

More spurious are the rumours linking us with a loan move for Stephen Ireland from Manchester City – I’ve not seen this confirmed anywhere other than via fan’s gossip on internet forums, so it would be a surprise (albeit a pleasant one!) if this one turned out to be true – it’s about time Psycho loaned us some decent young players to get some experience too!

And of course, the Agogo saga is – as yet – unresolved as far as I know, I would expect the move to be finished this week, since he apparently travelled up to Huddersfield with the Forest squad at the weekend, after Bristol dilly-dallied on friday (apparently not wanting to sign up for a loan deal incase he picked up an injury and Forest then reneged on a permanent move – which I suppose is fair enough).

If we do add Agogo and potentially another player (or maybe another two!) then this sends a strong message to the rest of league one, where we currently sit atop the table, with arguably our two most talented players (Nathan Tyson and Kris Commons) still sidelined by injury.

Does it all bode too well?

  1. Well, according to The Bristol Rovers website a fee has been agreed, and the paperwork has been done at their end, for the signing of Agogo. So he should be a Forest player tomorrow, I reckon.

At last the saga is over!!
